In the context of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi on the need to pay attention to modern technologies in general and artificial intelligence in particular, and under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Scientific Research today launched the activities of the opening ceremony of the African Forum for Innovation and Technology, which is being held from 12-13 November 2021 in cooperation with Technospace and with the participation of many African countries, including Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Niger.
The forum aims to encourage African school students and universities to search for scientific and practical solutions to solve many problems in the fields of agriculture, industry, health, real estate and smart cities through the use of modern technologies; This is to discover their innovative capabilities in various fields of technology such as: artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and mobile applications; To achieve Africa's vision for sustainable development, in addition to learning the basics of entrepreneurship, the forum also contributes to developing and strengthening the pioneering role of Egypt in the African continent, and developing friendship with the countries of the continent.
Where many schools and universities participated in the competition, for example, outstanding schools, San Mark School, Echoes for the Deaf and Dumb, Alexandria University, Assiut University, Pharos University, Al -Azhar University, Modern University of Egypt and African University of Sinjor, and Equatorial University of Guinea.
The members of the Electronics Research Institute also provided the technical support required for all the axes of the forum, where committees of specialized professors were formed to arbitrate scientific and technical works provided by the participants in the forum, as well as the institute's support for the forum's business incubator technically. It is worth noting that the forum is the first African forum to bring together African students from the ages of 5 years to the age of post -university education
