Electronics Research participates in the activities of the International Conference on the Conservation of Nature and its Resources
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, on the Institute’s participation in the activities of the International Conference on Conservation of Nature and its Resources entitled “Towards activating the 2030 strategy and beyond”, which was held in Sharm Sheikh during the period from 28 to 31 August 2021, under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Environment, and the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
The report pointed out that the institute’s participation in the conference comes within its strategy to direct scientific research to serve the community and achieve Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030.
The report pointed to the participation of the Electronics Research Institute in the conference and the accompanying exhibition with a number of products, research summaries and lectures on “Using Modern Technologies for Developing and Sustaining Agricultural Resources towards Strategy 2030 and Beyond” by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader and Dr. Basma Mamdouh Al-Basyouni.
Dr. Mohamed Zahran, head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, said that the results of the project “Sustainability and Economic Operation of the Egyptian-Chinese Laboratory on Qurman Island in Sohag with its connection to the electrical network” were presented during the exhibition accompanying the conference, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and under the supervision of a research institute. Electronics, noting that the lab aims to transfer and localize the technology of manufacturing solar cells and panels and related modern technologies from the Chinese side, and to develop the solar energy industry, in addition to training in all stages and manufacturing processes to produce scientific cadres in engineering, physical and chemical disciplines so that the lab is a nucleus for the transfer of this technology. For all governorates of Egypt and Arab Qatar.
For her part, Dr. Sherine indicated that during the activities of the conference sessions, Dr. Mohamed Zahran, Dr. Aref Eleiwa and Dr. Amr Bayoumi, the researchers on duty for the project, and a number of distinguished researchers in the project who were honored by the Minister of Social Solidarity at the opening of the conference presented a number of visual presentations to explain The economic and national importance of the project, as well as the various stages of manufacturing that take place inside the plant to obtain solar cells and panels with high efficiency.
A prototype of a three-pronged homemade inverter was also shown to connect solar cells with the electrical grid at a lower cost, and as a practical application of the idea, a water pump unit working through solar panels manufactured in the Egyptian-Chinese laboratory was presented to extract water from the ground, with the aim of solving the problem of continuous water interruption. the public inside Qaraman Island, and also to achieve the sustainability of the project.
At the end of the session, Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader indicated that the institute will conduct a workshop under the auspices of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the main funder and supporter of the Egyptian-Chinese laboratory, in which all industrial bodies, companies and those interested in the field of new and renewable energy will be invited to market the laboratory’s training and manufacturing services.
