Scientific and research cooperation between the National Remote Sensing Institute and the Electronics Research Institute
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report from Dr. Sherine Mohamed Abdel Qader, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, on the joint scientific and research cooperation between the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences headed by Dr. Mohamed Bayoumi Zahran, and the Electronics Research Institute; With the aim of arriving at the innovation of a system that helps to automate the management of agricultural crops and support agricultural decision-making, within the framework of the state's orientation towards employing smart agriculture to achieve sustainable development.
The report indicated that the proposed system to automate the planning of agricultural management areas and support agricultural decision-making is a first version of a web application integrated with an Internet of things network, and is equipped to receive data from sensors deployed in the field directly. The system can also be used in the pre-agricultural stage where it calculates soil fertility quality indicators, physical and chemical indicators, in order to assess the suitability of the soil for growing crops.
The report added that the new system can also be used during the agricultural process, as it allows saving maps of management areas and using them in the application with a variable rate of agricultural resources and practices according to the needs of each area of the field, and displaying a live graph of field data, and data can be stored, retrieved and displayed in different forms, With the possibility of determining the factors affecting the crop, as it tests its occurrence periodically; To take appropriate measures in this case, and the system monitors the current status of the field sensors to detect any emergency problems, and to ensure that they do not stop sending data while calculating the downtime if they occur.
It is worth noting that the new system supports dealing with various agricultural lands through land registration, as it is easy to select and move between them easily, and store and process their data. Send alert messages via e-mail or text messages that appear on the screen, and send direct control messages to field sensors.
It should be noted that this system has been protected by copyright under the name EGYPADS, for the authors who are the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, the Electronics Research Institute, Dr. Mohamed Bayoumi Zahran, Dr. Sherine Mohamed Abdel Qader, Dr. Abdel Aziz Bilal, and Dr. El-Sayed Saeed, And Dr. Basma Mamdouh.
