Higher Education: Electronics Research organizes a forum for linking scientific research with industry
Dr.Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the Institute’s organization of the “Linking Scientific Research with Industry” forum, in cooperation with the New Cairo Manufacturers Association, in the meeting room at the headquarters of the Electronics Research Institute in Nozha.
The report pointed out that the forum aims to contribute to supporting researchers and innovators, creating an encouraging environment for science, technology and innovation, and building a strong scientific base to deepen local manufacturing and raise the quality of the Egyptian product, stressing the importance of the forum in activating the Science, Technology and Innovation Incentives Law, which aims for the participation of research centers and institutes for the industrial sector in Industrial and production national projects.
On her part, Dr. Sherine Muharram indicated that this forum comes within the framework of mutual and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research represented by the Electronics Research Institute, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry represented by the Industrial Modernization Center, and to activate the protocol signed between the two sides, to enhance the benefit of the capabilities and expertise of the Institute’s scientific, research and laboratory students and the outputs of scientific research and innovation; To meet the needs of the various industrial sectors and upgrade their competitiveness because of its significant impact on the advancement of the national economy.
The Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute indicated that the forum is interested in encouraging researchers working in the research and academic sector; To create start-up companies that enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector through research and development based on the concepts of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and support the concepts of green technology, as ideas and research outputs capable of addressing the challenges facing the industrial sector in the field of electronics, information and communication technology, and to improve operations will be targeted. Productivity and raising the quality of products to support the economy and increase investment opportunities in the outputs of scientific research.
The activities of the forum were witnessed by the heads of the research departments and central laboratories, and a group of professors, researchers and their assistants at the Institute, Counselor Islam Tawfiq, the Legal Adviser of the Institute, Counselor Hossam Makkawi, Adviser of the New Cairo Association, and a number of officials of companies and factories in the industrial zone in the Fifth Settlement and Kattameya.
