The opening ceremony of the African Innovation and Technology Forum
Within the framework of implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to pay attention to modern technologies in general and artificial intelligence in particular, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Today, the Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Scientific Research launched the activities of the opening ceremony of the African Forum on Innovation and Technology, which will be held from 12-13 November 2021 in cooperation with Technospace and with the participation of many African countries, including Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Mali and Niger.
The forum aims to encourage African school and university students to search for scientific and practical solutions to solve many problems in the fields of agriculture, industry, health, real estate and smart cities through the use of modern technologies; In order to discover their innovative capabilities in various fields of technology such as: artificial intelligence, the Internet of things and mobile applications; To achieve Africa's vision of sustainable development, in addition to learning the basics of entrepreneurship, the forum also contributes to developing and strengthening Egypt's leading role in the African continent, and developing friendship bonds with the countries of the continent.
Many schools and universities participated in the competition, including, for example, the Outstanding Schools, Saint Mark School, Asdaa Association for the Deaf and Dumb, Alexandria University, Assiut University, Pharos University, Al-Azhar University, Modern Egypt University, Senghor African University, and the University of Equatorial Guinea.
The members of the Electronics Research Institute also provided the technical support required for all the forum’s axes, where committees of specialized professors were formed to arbitrate the scientific and technical works submitted by the participants in the forum, as well as the institute’s technical support for the business incubator of the forum. It is worth mentioning that the Forum is the first African forum that brings together African students from ages ranging from 5 years to post-university education.
