ERI participated in the International Conference on Remote Sensing Applications and Space Sciences in Hurghada
Prof. Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, participated in the activities of the First International Conference on Remote Sensing Applications and Space Sciences in Hurghada during the period from 8-11 December 2022, under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in the presence of Major General Ahmed Marzouk, Secretary Assistant General of the Red Sea Governorate, Colonel / Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Deputy Military Adviser to the Red Sea Governorate, and Prof. Dr. Amr Hamouda, Head of the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries. The conference was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Bayoumi Zahran, Chairman of the Authority. Dr. Sherine delivered a speech at the opening of the conference, which included the visions and the latest research developments reached by electronics research, and prospects for current and future cooperation with various sectors in the country, including the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences.
In her speech, Her Excellency also emphasized the Institute's constant endeavor to disseminate research and modern technologies in various fields, and to constantly work to create a new culture of creativity and development, working to raise awareness of the importance of localizing the technology of the electronics industry in Egypt, and creating generations of creators and inventors to contribute strongly to putting Egypt on the map. Globalization of this huge industry and making it a regional center for it in order to activate the vision of Egypt 2030, and the strategy, vision and mission of the institute.
In her speech, she touched on cooperation protocols and joint research projects that have been implemented, as well as current projects with the National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, scientific research, products, prototypes and intellectual property rights that were registered as a result of this fruitful cooperation between the two sides. Examples of this cooperation were given, including: smart agriculture, satellites, radar, antennas, and other various areas of cooperation of common interest between the two sides. She concluded her speech by saying that the Electronics Research Institute possesses distinguished research cadres distributed in seven scientific departments, in addition to many specialized and central laboratories that include the events of devices and equipment in the Middle East, which strongly qualifies the Institute to take the lead in implementing any research projects in various fields, including: image processing, And cloud computing, artificial intelligence applications, and printed electronic circuits….. An exhibition was also held on the sidelines of the conference, which included the products and prototypes of the Institute through the Tyco Office.
