Under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the activities of the second training camp were launched, entitled “The City of Science and Technology, Your Path from Technological Creativity to Knowledge Investment,” which was organized by the Electronics Research Institute, with the participation of a number of Egyptian university students, young graduates interested in technology and innovation, entrepreneurs, and incubators. The opening session of the camp began with a speech by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Scientific City, during which she stressed that organizing the second training camp came within the framework of the success achieved by the first training camp, in which more than 100 male and female students from various Egyptian universities participated. They received training on the necessary skills to manage technical ideas and outputs in the field of electronics, communications and energy.
Dr. explained. Sherine said that the second training camp aims to qualify Egyptian youth in the field of electronics and communications, and provide them with the necessary skills for the labor market, noting that the institute is keen to organize such training camps on an ongoing basis. To contribute to building a generation of creative and innovative young people; To be able to keep pace with rapid developments in the field of technology.
The camp reviewed the success stories of some startup companies, for which the Institute provides the necessary support and technical, administrative and legal consultations, which are considered the important foundations for the success of these companies, through a variety of programs and services that help startup companies develop their products and services, communicate with potential investors and partners, and launch them into the local and international market. .
"RFBOX for Engineering and Consultation" is one of the successful startups supported by the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry of the Electronics Research Institute (STPERI), which is subject to the technical supervision of the Electronics Research Institute, headed by Dr. Haitham Hussein Abdullah, Professor in the Microwave Engineering Department at the Institute. The company specializes in designing, manufacturing and installing wireless communications systems, including mobile network systems, Wi-Fi, and wireless transmission systems. It works in manufacturing solid waste suction devices and lithium batteries of various sizes and various applications such as mobile station batteries. UPS devices, light vehicles such as golf cars, Minicars, electric bicycles, scooters, children’s toys, medical devices, solar batteries, and other devices and equipment that rely on energy storage systems. The company recently won the Smart Cities Award at the “Innovation Arena Award” for its project, “Communication System.” Wireless to support smart cities.
Support is also provided to Rnker Digital Technology Company by the Scientific City, which has designed an electronic sports application used in 181 countries. The company's electronic application aims to calculate current and future sports classification and predict the draw for international tournaments based on classification in some sports such as taekwondo and others, using artificial intelligence technology.
The activities of the second training camp included the provision of a variety of lectures and training workshops, which dealt with the latest technologies in the field of electronics and communications, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, and fifth generation networks, as well as field visits to some emerging companies working in the field of electronics and communications. .
At the conclusion of the training camp activities, the participants expressed their happiness at participating in this experience, stressing that it helped them acquire new skills and learn about the latest technologies in the field of electronics and communications.
On the sidelines of the events, the Electronics Research Institute signed a contract to provide services, technical consultations, logistical support, and hosting for the “RCYKL” team, as the first contract to be signed in the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry affiliated with the Institute in the field of electronic waste management and recycling, and the second contract at the level of the Science City.
Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader said that signing a hosting contract for the work team aiming to establish a company came in implementation of the institute’s strategic plan, one of the goals of which is to make the Science City a stimulating and supportive environment for excellence in scientific research, thus establishing comprehensive societal development and the production of new knowledge that achieves international leadership.
