Amr Zayed, Head of Government Relations for Cooperation in the Field of Capacity Building at Huawei Egypt, Dr. Fahim Al-Naimi, CEO of the UAE Spider Network, and a group of representatives of ministries and agencies. At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Sharif Kishk, greetings from Dr. Ayman Ashour, reviewing the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the field of digital transformation and the future vision of how to use modern technologies to develop higher education institutions and move towards smart, sustainable universities, which are integrated with the seven principles of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which are (integration, interdisciplinarity, communication). (Effective participation, sustainability, international reference, leadership and creativity), through three main axes: the first is building and developing a central digital foundation for higher education, the second axis is the skills of future graduates in 2050, while the third axis includes smart and effective higher education institutions.
In her speech, Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader,reviewed the technological infrastructure of the Electronics Research Institute, and its various technical specializations, as well as the main axes of the digital transformation system within the institute, pointing to the institute’s efforts to become the first research institute specialized in the field of electronics, communications and information technology that is smart and environmentally friendly, in addition to the institute’s efforts to support entrepreneurs and incubators. Technology and emerging companies, through the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry affiliated with the Institute, pointing to the memorandum of understanding that was signed with Huawei. To cooperate in the field of capacity building, through the establishment of the ERI-Huawei ICT Tech Academy; With the aim of supporting and developing the capabilities of young people by transferring technological knowledge, and training the trainers of the Electronics Research Institute by high-level international experts from Huawei on the latest fields of technology such as (computing, big data, 5G and others).
For his part, CEO of Huawei Egypt, Mr. Jim Liu, expressed his happiness at the launch of the Higher Education Summit activities, stressing the importance of this event, which confirms Huawei’s commitment to developing higher education and partnership with the Egyptian government, through developing young talents and creating a sustainable system in the field of education. The field of ICT in Egypt, making Egypt a center of excellence in ICT in the Middle East and North Africa region through capacity building and working together; To empower youth and prepare a new generation of ICT leaders.Mr. Jim Liu also confirmed that Huawei's strategy seeks to contribute to creating a more interactive educational environment, promoting innovation and digitizing the educational process at its various stages, including the university stage, which contributes to improving the entire education process, which is in line with the state's plan to develop education in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030.

Fahim Al Nuaimi, CEO of the Emirates Advanced Education and Research Network (Ankabut), noted that digital transformation in the field of higher education in all countries of the world faces many challenges and opportunities, pointing out that the Huawei Egypt Higher Education Summit 2023 focused on reviewing The digital transformation plan of the Ministry of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and several strategic and technical axes were discussed, as well as a review of Huawei’s role in developing Egyptian national cadres capable of leading this stage of digital transformation, or the technologies used in this field by Huawei, such as smart universities and classrooms.
