Higher Education announces the performance harvest of ERI during the year 2021/2022
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, on the annual performance harvest of the Institute during the year 2021/2022.
The report indicated, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, that the Electronics Research Institute implemented many scientific and research projects during 2021/2022, within the framework of the institute’s pioneering role in providing training, consulting, and technology transfer services to production and service bodies in Egypt. In addition to implementing applied projects to develop performance in several areas to serve the national economy, as well as continuous cooperation with national and international institutions in the field of technology development, transfer and localization. The report stated that the Institute had published (132) scientific papers during the period from July 2021 to June 2022, and the number of scientific theses supervised by the Institute was (100), the number of authorship and translation movements (11), and the number of conferences in which the Institute participated (45), and The number of training courses organized by the Electronics Research Institute reached (42), the number of workshops (66), and the number of patents during that period (4). The number of completed external projects for the Institute reached (5) projects, and the number of ongoing external projects (9). ) projects, the number of completed internal projects (4) projects, and the number of ongoing internal projects (10) projects. The report indicated that among the ongoing projects, a project for a micro-interfacing electrical network system based on DC power distribution, a smart water resource management project based on the use of green energy and the Internet of Things, a project to synthesize and manufacture anodes and anodes as promising electrodes in a high-performance lithium-ion battery, Referring to the projects under contract with a fast track, which is the design and manufacture of the scale network shop, a portable device for direct heating to eliminate the red palm weevil inside the palm trunks,Design and implementation of a low-cost brushless DC motor controller on an electric wheelchair application, and implementation of a system to achieve further rationalization of electrical energy consumed in lighting systems within the institute's buildings, a monitoring sensor for vital signs for health care applications and measurement of human lung water level, and a micro and non-current transformer Saturable for power frequency AC measurement, innovative design based on hybrid system of vertical axis wind turbines with self-controlled solar panels to enhance The report referred to the ongoing external projects at the institute, namely, a project of innovative technologies for heritage and tourism, an innovative video library system and its application to the TV library, the Toot child, the design and manufacture of the antenna and the signal power amplifier for a prototype of a radar sensor unit, and a high-frequency intelligent radar system to avoid train collisions and detect obstacles, Implementation of the satellite communication system in the S-band frequency space.
The report added that the Institute succeeded in obtaining (24) awards, and the number of lectures given by the Institute's professors reached (52) lectures, and the number of times of international arbitration reached (205), and the Institute obtained membership in scientific journals during that period (29) times. He obtained membership in scientific societies (11) times, renewable electric energy.
On local and international cooperation protocols, the report stated that Electronics Research signed (10) local protocols with various parties, and the Institute signed (3) international protocols with (the British University in Egypt, Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, and the Korean Innovation Foundation).
The institute has also established a number of research and service laboratories to prepare trained technical cadres that are able to compete in the labor market, keep pace with the state’s national projects, and raise the quality and accuracy of the Egyptian product, including the Central Millimeter Waves Laboratory, the Printed Circuits Manufacturing Laboratory, the X-Ray Diffraction Laboratory, the Central Laboratory for Design and Modeling. Lithium-ion battery research and manufacturing laboratory, and electronic waste laboratory.
The report indicated that the Electronics Research Institute ranked (37) in the Scimago classification of research centers for North Africa and the Middle East for the year 2022,This is in a number of indicators, the most important of which are the number of leadership research, the number of research published in the most influential scientific journals, the number of research on databases, the number of excellence research, the number of regional cooperation research, the number of cooperation research with industry, the number of research in the field of knowledge innovation, and the number of research International cooperation.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the number of researches published internationally by the Electronics Research Institute has increased, and the institute has established a number of research and service laboratories to prepare technical cadres, All of them reflect the remarkable progress witnessed by the institute’s performance, and the institute’s role comes in line with the ministry’s policy of employing scientific research to serve the Egyptian community, and to meet its needs in all fields through the research role of research centers and institutes and universities, all of which work in permanent cooperation with all development sectors in the country.
