



Electronics Research Institute to hold African Innovation and Technology Forum.. next November
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research browsed a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Acting President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the Institute’s signing of a joint cooperation protocol with Technospace; With the aim of holding the African Innovation and Technology Forum at the Electronics Research Institute in Nozha, under the auspices of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the period from 12-13 November 2021.
The report pointed out that the organization of the forum comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to pay attention to technology and artificial intelligence, and in light of the ministry’s strategic plan, which includes the cooperation of universities and research centers with the private sector and civil society organizations; With the aim of doubling knowledge production and addressing societal challenges, and based on the national role that the institute plays as a house of expertise in the field of electronics and information and communication technology in Egypt.
Dr. . Sherine Abdel Qader explained that the forum aims to encourage school and university students and African students; To search for scientific and practical solutions to solve many problems in the fields of agriculture, industry, health, real estate and smart cities through the use of modern technologies; In order to discover their innovative capabilities in various fields of technology such as: artificial intelligence, the Internet of things and mobile applications; To achieve Africa's vision of sustainable development, in addition to learning the basics of entrepreneurship, the forum also contributes to developing and strengthening Egypt's leading role in the African continent, and developing friendship bonds with the countries of the continent.
Dr. Sherine said that the Electronics Research Institute will have an important role and great contributions this year in the forum by carrying out many activities, including: providing specialists from the members of the institute to provide the technical support required for all the forum's axes, and forming committees of specialized professors to arbitrate the scientific and technical works submitted by the participants in the forum, The institute also supported the forum's business incubator technically.
It is worth mentioning that the first edition of the African Innovation and Technology Forum was held last year in Luxor, with the attendance of 16 African countries.
