The head of the institute stated that the number of ongoing internal research projects reached 9 internal projects during the year 2022, within the framework of the first call for fast-track research projects to fund some research projects whose implementation period does not exceed one year and have applied outputs that can be marketed in the field of research. Industry and community service, including: a portable device for directed heating to eliminate red palm weevil inside palm trunks, design and manufacture of a scale network analyzer, a vital signs monitoring sensor for health care applications and human lung water level measurement, a transceiver for mobile phones in the LTE frequency range, and smart management Water sources are built on the use of green energy and the Internet of Things.
The head of the institute indicated that the new internal research projects submitted to the second call for fast-track research projects number 13 funded projects, whose implementation period does not exceed one year and have applied outputs that can be marketed in the field of industry and community service, including: a glass facade cleaner robot, design and construction of a charger. Electric car battery using photovoltaic cells, designing a tracking system for the maximum capacity of photovoltaic cells with practical verification, accurate model of smart parking, building a prototype of the sensor cloud in the smart academic building, blood glucose meter without pricking, developing smart gloves for the deaf and dumb, Designing an application for smart diagnosis of genetic syndromes using a mobile phone, a smart prosthetic arm that can sense temperature and weight and predict patient movement, adding that there are 11 external projects with a total budget estimated at about 46 million pounds during 2022.
The institute also launched the "Tariq" incubator with the support of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, as well as the launch of the "E-waste" incubator in cooperation with the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARI) in Switzerland and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the field of recycling electronic devices, as well as the launch of an incubator " Iprenuer" to support the establishment of start-up companies for researchers, in cooperation with the Industry Modernization Center of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, within the framework of the sustainable development strategy "Egypt's Vision 2030".
With regard to international protocols and contracts, the institute signed 14 contracts and protocols for cooperation between service, industry, research and education with many research agencies and institutions, including: the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Canadian Higher Institute, the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (Cedari), The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in addition to signing a cooperation protocol with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; With the aim of joint cooperation to hold the National Conference for Radio Science, and a cooperation protocol with a company; To support community activities.
