Participation of the Electronics Research Institute in the Global Forum for Higher Education
The activities of the second edition of the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research GFHS began today 8 December 2021, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research entitled Vision of the Future, from December 8 to December 10, 2021, with the participation of a number of countries around the world. The Arab and Islamic world, coinciding with Egypt's hosting of the 14th session of the General Conference of ISESCO, as well as the forty-second session of the Organization's Executive Council.
The Electronics Research Institute participated in its distinguished pavilion with a set of samples of some research outputs, as follows:
. A rapid detection device for salmonella food contamination bacteria.
. A rapid detection device for the emerging corona virus.
• A model of a wireless sensors network for smart agriculture.
• Smart electricity meters.
• Motion sensors based on infrared and microwave technology.
• A touch keyboard, which is used in various applications such as controlling electronic and electrical circuits, safes and medical devices.
An electronic circuit to protect electric motors from overloads, LED headlights, which depend on LED technology with different capacities, which give a high luminous value while reducing electricity consumption.
• Programmable sound and light thermal alarm to prevent car engines from overheating.
3D printers as one of the models of companies incubated by the Electronics Research Institute.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inspected the Electronics Research Institute’s pavilion at the exhibition, and Abdel Ghaffar praised the institute’s research outputs, explaining that the institute’s new headquarters includes the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry, which will host technology companies. This is in addition to the clean room for the microelectronics industry, which is one of the largest clean rooms in Egypt and the Middle East.
the minister stated that the institute will be officially inaugurated in the second quarter of next year 2022. The forum addressed a number of themes, the most important of which are:-
• The future of research work and technological development.
• Preparing and qualifying students and young researchers for future jobs.
• The needs of the local and international labor markets in light of the repercussions of the Corona pandemic and the rapid changes in employment skills and demand on the labor market, which were imposed by the fourth and fifth industrial revolution.
• The readiness of higher education and scientific research institutions for the Fifth Industrial Revolution.
The participation of a number of prestigious international universities and international bodies and organizations, the most important of which are: George Washington Universities, Harvard, Arizona State, Virginia, Chapman, Boston International Institute in the United States of America, Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom, Lincoln University in England, and the University of Sibiu, Romania, the Universities of Quebec and Windsor, Canada, and the University of Potsdam, Germany.
- The participation of a number of international organizations and bodies, namely: UNESCO, ISESCO, the World Bank, the National Council for Assessment and Accreditation NAAC, Magna Charta, Coursera for building skills and capabilities, as well as the global publisher Elsevier, Knowledge E.
- The forum includes the establishment of a number of events and activities, which will be implemented in the form of meetings, seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and scientific lectures.
On the sidelines of the forum, an exhibition will be organized that includes many participants from various public, private and international universities, technology companies specializing in education and scientific research, in addition to many international organizations and funding bodies.
