Higher Education and Scientific Research: Electronics Research discusses enhancing cooperation with the General Investment Authority
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Browse a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, about the agreement concluded by the Institute with the General Authority for Investment and Regions under the supervision of Mr. Magdi Al-Nabrawi, Head of the Business Development Sector at the Authority; With the aim of cooperation in a number of areas, including: entrepreneurship, start-up companies, and initial feasibility studies for these companies.
The report indicated that the cooperation between the two parties comes in implementation of the state's strategic plan, and the interest in developing the scientific research system in Egypt. With the aim of creating an attractive climate for Egyptian and foreign investments based on applied research, and in line with the Ministry’s strategic plan, which aims to adapt the outputs of scientific research; With the aim of developing the industrial sector, and building strategic partnerships between the various sectors of the state to contribute to the development of the national economy.
The report also indicated that the cooperation of the Electronics Research Institute with the General Authority for Investment and Regions comes within the framework of the institute's keenness to develop its resources, invest its outputs and technological assets, and expand in industries with added value and a high technological component.
The report added that the cooperation between the two parties came after conducting a number of mutual visits through holding training courses on the map of investment opportunities, as well as entrepreneurship for a number of members of the research body at the institute at the authority's headquarters.

Sherine said that the first training course included an explanation of the concept of the investment map and its working methodology, with models presented on the investment map’s website, in addition to a detailed explanation of how to prepare and manufacture the investment opportunity, and the value chains for a particular product, with an explanation of how the initial feasibility study works and its importance in creating the investment opportunity As well as training research staff members on the idea of targeting and promoting investment opportunities, with holding seminars on the resources available within the Electronics Research Institute and how to provide investment opportunities for them.
The second training course also included definitions of entrepreneurship, its environment, customers, their segments, and how to analyze them. Training was also conducted on preparing an initial feasibility study for start-up companies and procedures for establishing these companies, in addition to presenting the methodology and methods of design thinking and how to build a business model, with an explanation of the concept of entrepreneurship.
