Organizing a workshop on promoting research ideas and communicating with investors and industry people
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Ministry’s keenness to provide a conducive environment for science, technology and innovation and improve its capabilities to produce knowledge efficiently and effectively. With the aim of increasing the growth rate of the national economy and achieving Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030, he explained that the ministry has invested strongly in supporting technology and innovation over the past few years. To promote the establishment of a solid and continuous foundation for science, technology and innovation, pointing out the importance of disseminating scientific inventions, innovations and technological solutions on a scale that reaches the target audience, and establishing partnerships with investors, financiers and the industry sector.
In this context, the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office (Tyco) at the Electronics Research Institute organized an interactive workshop entitled “Commercial Promotion.” With the aim of promoting research ideas and transforming them into existing products, in light of the importance of supporting the relationship between scientific research and industry, and the necessity of directing research products to serve society, as well as the workshop’s support for effective communication between researchers and investors.
Dr. confirmed. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, said that organizing the workshop comes within the framework of the Institute’s direction to support and develop applied research projects, increase funding opportunities, embrace the entrepreneurial ideas of young researchers, and communicate with entrepreneurs. With the aim of empowering researchers and encouraging them to create entrepreneurial businesses, and developing the skills necessary for success as entrepreneurs by providing opportunities to communicate with investors and financiers, and developing professional expertise related to the field of entrepreneurship, I thank the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology headed by Dr. Mahmoud Saqr for the great support that the Academy provides to the offices Transfer and marketing of technology "Tyco".
For his part, Dr. Amr Al-Awamry, Executive Director of the Benha University Biotechnology Incubator, presented a visual presentation on the topic of the workshop, reviewing many of the points that enable the researcher to present his research idea to investors in a professional and convincing manner, which contributes to enhancing the chances of obtaining the necessary funding for quantitative manufacturing, as well as supporting obtaining... Grants for research projects and competition in scientific awards.
