ERI participates in the activities of the International Conference for the Conservation of Nature
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Acting Head of the Electronics Research Institute, on the institute’s participation in the activities of the International Conference for the Conservation of Nature and its resources entitled “Towards the activation of the 2030 strategy and beyond”, which was held in Sharm The Sheikh during the period from 28 to 31 August 2021, under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Environment, and the President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
The report pointed out that the institute's participation in the conference comes within its strategy to direct scientific research to serve the community and achieve Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030, where the conference represents a scientific platform for presenting future developments and visions, and a meeting place for all groups of Egyptian society specialized and interested in nature preservation.
The report pointed to the participation of the Electronics Research Institute in the conference and the exhibition accompanying it with a number of products, research summaries and lectures on “the use of modern technologies to develop and sustain agricultural resources towards the 2030 and beyond strategy” by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader and Dr. Basma Mamdouh Al -Bassiouni.
Dr. Mohamed Zahran, Chairman of the National Authority for Sensing from dimension and space sciences, explained that the results of the project “Sustainability and Economic Employment of the Egyptian Chinese Laboratory on the island of Qarman in Sohag were presented with linking to the electric network” during the exhibition accompanying the conference, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and under the supervision of the Research Institute Electronics, noting that the laboratory aims to transfer and localize the technology of manufacturing cells, solar panels and modern technologies related to it from the Chinese side, and develop the solar energy industry, in addition to training in all stages and processes of manufacturing to produce scientific cadres in engineering, physical and chemical disciplines to be the laboratory for the transfer of this technology For all the governorates of Egypt and the Arab country.
For her part, Dr. Sherine pointed out that during the activities of the conference sessions, Dr. Mohamed Zahran, Dr. Aref Eliwa, Dr. Amr Bayoumi, the two alternate researchers presented the project, and a number of distinguished researchers in the project who were honored by the Minister of Social Solidarity in the conference in the opening of the conference. A number of visual offers to explain The economic and national importance of the project, as well as the various manufacturing stages that take place inside the lab to obtain cells and solar panels with high efficiency.
A preliminary model for a homemade triangular inverter was also presented to connect solar cells with the electrical network at a lower cost, and a practical application of the idea has been presented a water pump unit that operates through the solar panels manufactured in the Egyptian -Chinese plant to extract water from the ground, with the aim of solving the problem of continuous water outage The public is within the island of Qarman, and also to achieve the sustainability of the project.
At the end of the session, Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader indicated that the institute will carry out a workshop sponsoring the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the main funded and supportive of the Egyptian -Chinese laboratory, in which all industrial agencies, companies and those interested in the new and renewable energy field are invited to marketing the training and manufacturing services.
