



Visit Horus University
The Electronics Research Institute received a delegation of faculty members, supporting staff, and students from the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Horus University, Egypt, in New Damietta. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Amr Hussein Hussein Abdullah, Professor of Communications and Antennas and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development at Horus University, Egypt.
The activities of the field visits included providing introductory presentations on all the Institute’s activities, and informing the delegation and students of the Science City project for electronics research and manufacturing, as well as the students inspecting the central laboratories of the Institute, including: the printed circuit manufacturing laboratory, the electronic waste recycling laboratory, the lithium-ion battery manufacturing laboratory, and the Specific absorption measurements, the millimeter measurements laboratory, and the virtual reality tourism laboratory, in addition to visiting the headquarters of technological incubators and startup companies, and the information and digital transformation center.
Prof. Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, stated that the field visits of the faculty members, the supporting staff, and the students come in implementation of the directives of the political leadership on the necessity of organizing field visits to the national projects that are being implemented on the homeland, noting that the visits aim to enhance scientific and research cooperation. With Egyptian universities, to achieve greater integration, as well as field skills training for students to prepare them to meet the requirements of the labor market.
The head of the institute added that these visits aim to encourage university students to learn about the giant national projects implemented by the state. To integrate them into development plans and connect them to them, and to introduce them to what is being accomplished on the ground, as well as to develop their values of belonging and patriotism, their love of work, and the desire for community participation and opening horizons towards a new future, as the students were introduced to the Electronics Research Institute as one of the specialized research institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education. And scientific research, which represents a distinguished house of expertise in conducting scientific and applied research and studies in the fields of electronics engineering, communications, computers, informatics, and new and renewable energy, which rise to global competition, as well as being a global consulting center to serve the nation’s institutions in general and the sectors of services, production, industry, communications, and energy. In particular, which seeks to support the national economy through the distinguished capabilities of the institute, and to compete industrially and strategically by increasing the added value in terms of quality and productivity.
For their part, the students and the accompanying delegation expressed their happiness with the scientific and research capabilities they saw, and the distinguished experiences applying the latest technologies at the Electronics Research Institute, noting that the visit to the Institute was very useful and will work to advance their scientific and educational capabilities, expressing their aspiration to repeat the visit again, especially After the full completion of the preparation of the Science City for Electronics Research and Industry affiliated with the Institute, which supports entrepreneurs, technology incubators, and emerging, small and medium-sized companies in the field of electronics industry, communications and information technology.
As an expression of their gratitude, Mr. Prof. Dr. Amr Hussein presented the shield of Horus University Egypt to Mr. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Salem, Vice President of the Institute for Administrative and Technical Affairs, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, on behalf of Mr. Prof. Dr. Al-Saeed. Abdel Hadi, President of Horus University, Egypt, and on behalf of Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Dabaoun, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Amr Hussein expressed Horus University Egypt’s desire to establish a cooperation protocol with the Electronics Research Institute in all fields that serve the scientific and research process.
