ERI receives STEM students from the School of Excellence in Science and Technology
As part of the efforts of the Electronics Research Institute headed by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram To develop the capabilities of Egyptian school and university students and develop their research skills, in line with the country's vision to achieve comprehensive development 2030, the institute received a group of students from the STEM School in Sharkia; With the aim of supporting them in the research projects assigned to them.
Dr. Sherine confirmed that the students’ visit to the institute came to support the students of the schools of excellence by benefiting from the laboratory and research capabilities of the institute, and the experiences of the members of the research staff, in addition to activating the applied side of the students and developing their capabilities in all scientific fields, and following up the practical activities related to their studies, through the laboratories equipped with the institute.
During the day's activities, the students listened to a lecture on programmable logic controllers and their use in industrial and agricultural applications, followed by an open discussion on how to benefit from this advanced technology in the field of fish farms and agricultural lands to increase production.
At the end of the events, the students visited the central laboratories of the institute, accompanied by a group of specialized engineers. To explain the production line of printed circuit boards (PCB), as well as the technology of extracting metals from electronic waste (E-waste). The students also toured the solar cell factory; To learn about the types of solar cells and the measurement processes that are used to determine the efficiency of the solar cell.
