



Receiving a delegation from Helwan University to discuss ways of cooperation in academic fields
Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, received a delegation from Helwan University. To discuss ways to support and enhance joint cooperation between the two sides in the academic, research, training and technological fields, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Salem, supervisor of technical and administrative affairs at the institute, Dr. Hisham Farouk, professor at the Department of Computers and Systems at the institute, Dr. Heba Shawky, supervisor of the training department at the institute.
The university delegation included Dr. Osama Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Maslawy, Dean of the Helwan Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Ali Saleh, Advisor to the University President for Digital Transformation, Dr. Amr El-Sayed, Director of the Scientific Computation Center, Dr. Maha Abdul Rahim Younis, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Shereen The Institute is keen to expand the base of cooperation and exchange experiences and visions with various academic, research, industrial and technological bodies and institutions, in pursuit of the Institute to achieve the goals of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, through cooperation and integration between universities and research centers in various disciplines, to achieve the goals Sustainable development (Egypt's Vision 2030), and meeting the needs of the local, regional, and global market, through economic, environmental, and social development.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation mechanisms in the fields and specializations of the Institute, including: virtual reality, cloud computing, information center, and issues of digital transformation, in addition to partnership in alliances to obtain projects funded by various parties, as well as discussing the possibility of cooperation in the fields of: cell stations Solar panels, electric cars, and smart agriculture based on the Internet of Things. The possibility of benefiting from the institute’s expertise in designing and manufacturing LED lights was also discussed.
The two sides also discussed the exchange of experiences and consultations, and benefiting from the laboratory capabilities of the institute, as well as benefiting from the university's scientists and dealing with them as a house of expertise to cooperate in conducting joint scientific research, in addition to cooperation in the field of technological incubators, and the possibility of benefiting from them; To support entrepreneurs and startups.
The meeting dealt with training university students from the second academic year until graduation in the institute's laboratories. In order to obtain a prototype for a product that can be marketed, the university delegation explained that students of the Computers and Communications Departments will be trained at the Faculty of Engineering in Helwan, provided that there will be a supervisor from the university and another from the institute. To train them in the Institute's business incubators, before the 30th of March.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Helwan University delegation visited a number of the institute's central laboratories, including: the printed circuit manufacturing plant, the electronic waste recycling plant, the lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant, the specific absorption measurements laboratory, the millimeter measurements laboratory, and the virtual reality laboratory for tourism, in addition to a visit The headquarters of technology incubators and startups, and the information and digital transformation center.
For its part, the Helwan University delegation praised the distinguished capabilities and equipment of the Electronics Research Institute, and the services provided by the Institute.
