Project Abstract | The proposed project provides a smart management system for available underground water resource depending on IoT (Internet of Things) management system. This system is used to remotely manage and monitor one of the water resources that are not properly exploited which is the groundwater. This smart system will be designed for water pumping and monitoring to maximize this water wealth utilization. In addition, this project will monitor and control the whole irrigation process of land beside this groundwater resource to watch remotely the amount of water needed for crops. The proposed system consists of three separate modules. The first module is designed for controlling the amount of groundwater pulled up from the well by the pump. The green energy module is designed as a second module to feed the whole pumping system with solar energy as a power source. The third is the IoT module, it will be implemented to remotely monitor and control the whole system by creating a dash board and sending notifications through a mobile application. The signs may be monitored by IoT module will be as temperature, humidity, water level, water flow rate, water pipe pressure. The action could be taken through IoT, maybe, switch on/off the pump. A well digged by our institute in this premises at the National Research Center will be used as a study case. The innovation in this project is the integration between the renewable energy sources, the pumping systems, and IoT for underground water application. Also, each module of this proposed system is designed to be used separately in any other application. This proposed project can offer many benefits which are: optimization of water usage and distribution remotely, reducing energy consumption, reducing water waste, and reducing the pollution by using the green energy. |
