A cooperation protocol with Assiut University with the aim of cooperation in the field of electronics and communications technology
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the importance of supporting sustainable research and technological cooperation between Egyptian research institutes and universities, and the importance of integration between all research and educational institutions and each side benefiting from the other, in a way that serves Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030.
In this context, Assiut University signed a cooperation protocol with the Electronics Research Institute, at the institute’s headquarters in New Nozha. The protocol was signed by Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of the University, and Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Institute.
Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, explained that the cooperation protocol stipulates academic exchange between the two sides, including mutual visits by registered faculty members and researchers from graduate students. To obtain master's and doctoral degrees; To pursue research and deliver lectures, in addition to increasing opportunities for marketing technology, organizing and participating in joint academic and scientific activities, such as seminars and conferences for both parties, as well as cooperating in joint research projects in the fields of electronics, communications, information technology, new and renewable energy, management and recycling of electronic waste, and others. areas, and the exchange of artistic, technical, economic and investment experiences.

Sherine Abdel Qader, President of the Electronics Research Institute, pointed out that the signing of the protocol came within the framework of the importance of the institute’s research and societal role, and the university’s academic and service role in serving the development sectors in Egypt in the fields of industry, technology localization, increasing the local component, and other priority areas; To serve the goals of sustainable development, in addition to exchanging scientific, academic and technical knowledge, in addition to joint scientific supervision of master’s and doctoral students, and maximizing the benefit of scientific expertise and modern laboratory equipment available at the institute.Dr. Adel Abdo Hussein, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Assiut University, pointed out that the protocol is the beginning of future cooperation based on a common vision between the two sides. To achieve multiple goals covering all areas of the sustainable development goals contained in Egypt’s strategic plan, “Egypt Vision 2030”.On the sidelines of the protocol signing activities, Dr. Sherine Muharram was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Al-Minshawy on an inspection tour of the institute’s departments and central laboratories, which included the electronic circuit manufacturing laboratory, the electronic waste recycling laboratory, the battery manufacturing laboratory, the (XRD) device laboratory, the millimeter wave measurement laboratory, the specific absorption measurement laboratory, the modeling laboratories and the virtual tourism pavilion, in addition to About inspecting the headquarters of the Scientific City for Electronics Research and Industry.The President of Assiut University expressed his happiness to visit the Electronics Research Institute, with its research, scientific, and laboratory capabilities that are unique to the Institute in the field of electronics and the industries based on them, praising the specialized laboratories and their advanced equipment that would serve the country’s various sectors, entrepreneurs, and emerging companies, including The institute has a huge human force that contributes to supporting and localizing electronics industry technology, and creating and creating many investment opportunities.
