



ERI signs contracts for 5 new research projects to localize the industry and increase the local component
Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, signed contracts for a number of internal research projects affiliated with the General Administration of Research Projects and Research Marketing, within the framework of the third call for fast-track research projects.
Abdul Qader revealed - in a statement today / Wednesday / - the most prominent of these research projects, which are: producing a smart microwave imaging system for early detection of breast cancer by the principal researcher, Dr. Khaled Fawzi, designing and implementing technical, technological, and engineering education laboratories for the principal researcher, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Abu Al-Sabah, establishing... A dataset of images described in Arabic in the field of assisting people with visual impairment, by the principal researcher, Dr. Nabila Khudair.
She added that the projects also include producing an intelligent navigation system for a moving robot in an unknown environment for the principal researcher, Dr. Ayman Youssef, and a system for generating electrical power and purifying water for the principal researcher, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shami.
She stressed that the signing of research contracts comes within the framework of the Institute’s keenness to pay attention to scientific research in light of the implementation of Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable development, and its interest in motivating members of the Institute’s research staff. To provide internal research projects through the General Administration of Research Projects.
She explained that the submission of project proposals was announced within the framework of the third call for fast-track research projects last May, and then meetings of project committee members were held. To study the submitted proposals and discuss their initial arbitration principles.
She indicated that a workshop was held in the presence of project owners; To provide visual presentations of their projects, after which five proposals for research projects will be accepted.
