



ERI signs an agreement with the Industrial Modernization Center to support the Open Factory project
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader Muharram, Head of the Electronics Research Institute, about the Institute signing an agreement with the Industrial Modernization Center, within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.The agreement was signed by the Electronics Research Institute, Dr. Sherine Abdel Qader, President of the Institute, and on behalf of the Industrial Modernization Center, Engineer Mohamed Abdel Karim, Executive Director.According to the agreement signed between the two parties, the Electronics Research Institute provides logistical and technical support to the Industrial Modernization Center within the scope of the services provided by the center. With the aim of supporting and developing Egyptian industry, and linking scientific research with industry.It was also agreed to benefit from the vision and experience of the Electronics Research Institute; To support the knowledge-based economy and access to locally made products, and to enhance the strategies of the Industrial Modernization Center, which aims to support entrepreneurs and emerging companies.
The two parties agreed to support the “Open Factory” project funded by the European Union, in cooperation with the Faculty of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Cairo University, the Chamber of Leather Industry, and the National Research Center, in order to provide the necessary services for the project by the Electronics Research Institute, due to its expertise and tools that contribute to enhancing... The project, to produce positive results that contribute to supporting entrepreneurs, innovators and designers.
It is worth noting that the “Open Factory” project seeks to enhance the role of young innovators and designers in supporting innovation and technology transfer. In an effort to improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector, in the textiles, ready-made clothing, and leather sectors, the project includes accelerating sustainable business models; To enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs and makers of small and medium enterprises.Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman and media advisor for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the Ministry is following up on the implementation of the vision of the political leadership by directing scientific research. To serve the goals of sustainable development, link scientific research with industry, direct scientific research to serve society, confront the challenges facing economic growth, and link the research plans of Egyptian centers, institutes, and research bodies to serve development issues.
