Obtaining a patent for transparent antenna systems
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of the political leadership’s vision by directing scientific research to serve the goals of sustainable development, linking scientific research to industry, directing scientific research to serve society, solving problems and challenges facing economic growth, and linking the research plans of centers, institutes and research bodies to serve the geographical environment. And solve the problems of the local environment, guided by the importance of increasing the number of patents issued by these research centers and institutes, and raising the rates of publication in international journals.
In this context, Dr. announced. Sherine Muhammad Abdel Qader Muharram, President of the Electronics Research Institute, announced the issuance of a new patent for the Institute, noting that this patent is the fourth patent issued to the Institute within two years, as a result of the Institute’s policy of increasing the number of patents related to topics that benefit industry and society, in line with the Institute’s policy of Adopting innovations and increasing the number of patents that serve the issues that the Egyptian government places as its top priorities.
The head of the institute added that the new patent addresses transparent antenna systems for harvesting electromagnetic energy, which have many modern applications, noting that these systems do not block sunlight or obscure vision, as this antenna can be used on windows without obstructing the view of exhibits, and it can also be placed On the roofs of building windows, car windows, solar cells, and any box or glass surface, which increases the multiplicity of applications and areas of use, such as feeding wireless sensors in Internet of Things systems in medical, industrial, and agricultural applications, measuring environmental pollution, and in smart museums, pointing out that its application in Museums in Egypt are more important because it is a tourist country characterized by the diversity of antiquities and the presence of a large number of museums. Dr. pointed out: Sherine Muharram pointed out that the new invention features the antenna system with a high degree of transparency and efficiency, as it has a transparency coefficient of up to 90%, and has a high gain compared to antennas with the same transparency that were previously presented, and the cost of the new system is very low than what was previously presented. It is worth noting that the inventors of this invention from the Electronics Research Institute are Dr. Nermin Ahmed Al-Tarisi, researcher at the institute, Dr. Dalia Muhammad Nashaat, Research Professor at the Institute, Dr. Ismat Abdel Fattah is a full-time research professor at the institute
