



One of the startup companies (RF Box) won the “Innovation Arena Award”
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the ministry’s strategy in supporting the path of innovation and technology development; To enhance the knowledge-based economy and develop a creative, innovative and productive society in the fields of science, technology and knowledge.The Minister pointed out the important role played by the Electronics Research Institute in supporting the path of innovation and technology development in Egypt, by providing support to young researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and emerging companies, developing technology, and participating in regional alliances.Dr. announced. Sherine Abdel Qader, President of the Electronics Research Institute, said that one of the institute’s startup companies won the “Innovation Arena Award” as part of the activities launched by the Innovators and Geniuses Fund of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the sidelines of the Cairo International Technology Fair (ICT Cairo), in its seventh session. The 20th, which will be held from November 19 to 22, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and a group of ministers and officials.
Dr. Sherine Muharram indicated that the Institute has participated this year in a variety of technological outputs, through its participation in two technological incubators, namely (Tariq Incubator and Green Electropikia Incubator), in addition to its participation in many emerging companies supported by the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Manufacturing. affiliated with the Institute (STPERI) in the field of nurturing young researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and emerging companies.The award was received by Dr. Haitham Hussein, professor in the Microwave Engineering Department at the Institute and supervisor of the company RFBOX for Engineering and Consultation, winner of the Smart Cities Award.Dr. explained. Sherine said that RFBOX company started as part of a group of work teams in the “Tareeq” incubator supported by the Academy of Scientific Research, and then it was contracted by the Electronics Research Institute to provide all services, technical consultations, and logistical support.
