ERI and Stperi organizes DeepTech Hackathon

Within the framework of the "Electronics industry technology localization initiative", the Electronics Research Institute (ERI) and its Science park, i.e., Science and Technology Park for Electronics Research and Industry (STPERI), are proud to organize the DeepTech Hackathon in collaboration with Sanam Ventures and IEEE Vehicular Technology (VT), Egypt Chapter to address critical challenges faced by Egypt using emerging technologies.
Target Sectors:
The hackathon will focus on the following sectors which is critical for the development of Egypt:
- Energy
- Water
- Food & Agriculture
- Security & Defense
- Transportation
- Health
Emerging Technologies:
Participants will leverage their expertise in the following technologies to develop solutions:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Machine Learning (ML)
- Deep Learning (DL)
- Big Data & Analytics
- Cloud Computing
- Blockchain
- Cybersecurity
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Robotics
- Additive Manufacturing
- Communication
- Antennas and Radar systems
- Renewable Energy
Tracks:
The hackathon will feature two tracks:
- Amateur Venture: This track targets under-graduate students who focus on developing innovative solutions as part of their academic projects.
- Professional Venture: This track targets post-graduate students, i.e. master and PhD students, and researchers who are aiming to transform their ideas into real ventures with high-growth potential.
Prize Structure:
The hackathon offers six attractive prizes to encourage participation and recognize excellent projects/solutions. The awards are evenly distributed between the two tracks, with three prizes for the best three projects/solutions in each. The prize structure for each track is organized as follows:
- 1st Place: EGP 40,000
- 2nd Place: EGP 20,000
- 3rd Place: EGP 10,000
Proposed Date:
The hackathon activities will be held on three days, where the proposed starting date will be on Sunday 27th of October and will be ended on Tuesday 29th of October.
