Lecture Title: Performance Enhancement for Wireless Communication Systems Using Modulation and Coding Classification |
Lecture Summary: Different modulation techniques are used for signal transmission. These techniques give versatility to the transmission without prior knowledge of the data transmitted and some parameters at the receiver side like the carrier frequency, phase offsets, and signal power. Detection of the modulation is a challenging task. In this lecture, we present a novel approach based on code parameter and maximum likelihood for code classification in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) systems in the presence of Inter-User Interference (IUI). This classifier is used to detect the true code type of the received signal. We use Multi-User Kurtosis(MUK) for Blind Signal Separation (BSS) to enhance the performance of the classifier.
Experimental results are obtained over Rayleigh fading channels in the presence of time and frequency offsets and Doppler frequency shift. Another method is proposed for modulation classification based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). This classification is performed in the presence of Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI), which is an important process in many wireless communication applications. |
