signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the Electronics Research Institute and the Shanghai Institute for Microelectronic Systems and Information Technology

Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, witnessed the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the Electronics Research Institute and the Shanghai Institute for Microelectronic Systems and Information Technology On 4 March 2021, within the framework of the twinning and technology transfer between the technology incubator "TARIEIC" of the Electronics Research Institute and its counterpart, the "InnoSpring" incubator. For the Shanghai Institute of Microelectronics and Information Technology.

The cooperation protocol aims to promote, develop and assist each of the two incubators' programs: the SIMIC-InnoSpring incubator projects and the "ERI-TARIEIC" incubator, including cooperation in the field of technological research and development, marketing activities, technology transfer, and patent marketing and promotion. and that is through:

  1. Twinning and cooperation in transferring technology from the SIMIC-InnoSpring incubator, which is specialized in wireless sensor systems and the applications of the fourth industrial revolution, to the "TARIEIC" incubator specialized in the electronics industry, in the field of supporting innovation in incubator programs and business accelerators.
  2. Cooperation in the transfer of technology in industrial engineering to convert the initial research models into industrial models that can be launched on the market.
  3. The exchange of visits by specialized researchers and those in charge of the two incubators' programs in order to see a joint strategy with an economic and operational impact, according to the experiences available in the SIMIC-InnoSpring incubator.

The protocol was signed between Prof. Dr. Hisham El-Deeb, President of the Electronics Research Institute, and Dr. Rin Jaya, General Director of SIMIC-InnoSpring Incubator at Shanghai Institute of Microelectronic Systems and Information Technology. The Chinese embassy in Cairo witnessed the signing of the cooperation protocol at the New premises of the Electronics Research Institute in New Nozha, Cairo.

It is worth noting that the signing took place via video conference technology between the two sides in the presence of Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Consul General of the Egyptian Embassy in Shanghai.

After the signing ceremony, the Minister inspected the new premises of the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry, affiliated to the Electronics Research Institute. His Excellency and the participating delegation inspected some of the emerging companies graduated from TARIEIC Incubator, as well as the headquarters of the Science and Technology City for Electronics Research and Industry, which includes the headquarters of the Industrial Modernization Center and many small and medium companies and entrepreneurs working in the electronic and digital industries sectors.

His Excellency the Minister also witnessed the signing of the first cooperation protocol between the City of Science and Technology in research and the electronics industry and the first investment company in the city, which is the MSA Company for Commercial Projects (a free zone company - with limited liability - for investment in commercial projects, establishment, management and a commercial intermediary) its regional office in the UAE The United Arab Emirates and represented in the Arab Republic of Egypt by the Middle East Company for Security Systems and Information Technology MSA

As the cooperation between two foreigners aims to support the economy and increase investment opportunities in the outputs of scientific research, entrepreneurship and training, especially in the field of digital transformation and applications of the fourth industrial revolution, and to enhance the contribution to comprehensive and sustainable economic development through industrial development policies and programs.
